Important Commenting and Linking Settings For Blogger

There are many Blogs that I read and Wish to Comment on with a Related Post and Sometimes I Would Like to Link to the Post that I have just Read. But the Problem is that the Blogger Has not Enabled some Important Settings on their Blog so that I can Easily do this One of them is Enabling Anonymous Comments and the Other is Enabling Backlinks.


If you wish to enable Anonymous Comments Go to Settings and Select Comments then Who Can Comment and Select Anyone can Comment. Below this you Will Also Find Backlinks and Select Show Backlinks. The reason this is Important is that you can Now Build Links to you Blog posts and not just your Homepage.

Also Just Say you Write Mainly About One topic on your Blog but you Have a Post About Blogger Settings and How they Can Affect your SEO you Could Place your Name and Put the URL or your Blogspot Help Post as your URL when Commenting. This would Mean that your Blog Post has now a comment on an Related Post and you Can Also Select Create a Link to this Post if you Wish to Link to the Blogspot Post that you Are Reading.


These Settings for Backlinks are Also know as Trackbacks for Blogger because Many People think that Blogger Does Not Have Trackbacks but it is Just that People do Not Enable Trackbacks on Blogspot Blogs try to Enable these Settings as it Will Help you Have a More SEO Optimised Blogspot Blog.

Make a commenting Ring around your Blog

If you Comment on my Blog post and another person then, I comment on both or your Blogs this is fine. But if you Comment on the other Persons blog also and they do the Same then it's a 3 way linking system. Now think if that was 10 people or even more how much better would your blog inlinks be.

This is a processess of linking Z-list blogs because you can comment all you like on problogger and copyblogger but unless you make a very interesting point that really stands out you will get links but no traffic form these links.

Plus I have noticed  that in the Comments section there is very little interaction between Commentators.One of the main Goals of a blog post is to get the conversation started and not end with just full stop.

If you are a Blogspot user try not if Possible to comment with your Blogspot Profile, Using Instead Name/Url and link it to a relevant  Post page URL, This is Because if you post about a Different Topic on another Day and people who Read your Comment and are impressed by it so they Visit your Blog, Only to Find out there is Notting there about the Topic you Commented about and they Won't Dig through your Archives.

This is a Landing Page tactic that can be Used to Increase Pageviews.
So now the Visitor can See a Simular Post and Might Read Further. They Might agree with you and want to See what you are Blogging about now, or use your Site search to See if you have more on the Topic.
It's Hard I know to Keep Track of All your indvidual posts from your Blog I know and Remembering to Do this.

But it all Comes Down to One of the basics of Making a Comment on a blog-post. Which is Take your Time. Go to your Blogger Dashboard find a Related Post then open the Page and Copy the URL, of the post and Paste it into the Comment box. This will take a Minute Extra, but it will Pay off in the Future.

Syndicating your RSS feed to only a Sniplet may Sound like a Good Idea but it is not because you may be Missing out.This is Because Many People Who a Reading it in Something Like Google Reader Will Skip Past it because other Feeds in there Have Photos and It Happens that the Reader scrolls Past without Seeing your content.

I tried setting my Feed to Short Before and Noticed Very Low Click through as the Readers, Do not See what the Post is Really about and Unless you have a Very Good Headline your Feed will Go unnoticed. When you Use an rss feed creator like feedburner and then set it up in your blogspot blog make sure you set you feed to full because maybe people only like to Read your Blog in a Feed Reader rather than Going to your Home Page. If you are Worried about your income you have to Remember that most returning Visitors will not click it's a Fact most Earnings From Ad Networks Come from New Visitors.

The point Being that your content will go unread and you may loose subscribers as they will think maybe you are trying to trick them into Visiting which you basically are Doing. But most People will Visit your Blog anyway if the Post Looks Interesting Enough in the Rss Reader.

I had a Conversation with another Blogger over a period of time and We both agree that most free blogger templates although they may look nice are filled with errors and sometimes it's better to use the Templates in your blogger account and customize blogger templates yourself if you know some html


The blogger template minima seem to be one of the more flexible blogger template designs making it easy to tweak form a 2 column to a 3 column Template is also easy and so is many other Tweaks that can be found on many blogger template Tutorial Sites. Most of these templates are Hard to use to make your blog look Individual as Many of us travel the Blogosphere we will see these Designs on many Blogs so they do not do much for Branding either another Important part of getting established.

There are something we have to know if we want to get a little more serious about our blogs and one of the is Html as it is an Important thing to know even with WYSIWYG editors As Lots of these templates are Affiliate based and if you are not Selling these you are better of not using them as you are making money selling Templates for other People.

The Importance of Responding to Comments

How many times do you see Comments on blogs alone and unanswered on Blog posts. This makes it look like the Blogger is unattentive to His/Her Readers. When someone comments on your post don't see it as a Comment and think you have done well. Make a conversation from it because it's an extension of the post.


It has happened that I have often seen search results that were not a result of the post rather a comment on it. Now what would someone that was new to your site think if they see comments and no response from the blogger. They will think first you are Rude and you don't care about your Readers. Also they will not subscribe to your feed if they think you are like this.

If you make conversation this makes the content larger and will allow a better chance of getting search hits because content is King as they say. Now think about it If you have started the conversation and Don't join in you will have less chance of getting new comments on your following posts. And even worse Subscribers can fall as a Result of non Participation.

So think of your next comments as a kind of chat and respond to them this also works when you comment on other blogs. Try not to believe the Hype that you should only comment on Blogs in your Niche  comment anywhere you have something Interesting to say. I for example Do not write about the Enviorment but I do comment on blogs about Green Ideas , Even on Blogs about Writing



Other blogs I comment on are blogs about Indonesia because the person who writes it puts many comments on this blog  and if you look at his blog it will show you how well he interacts with his Readers and how it should be Done. So it can only do good no matter what kind of blog you have to comment on other blogs some of my best comments on this blog have came from someone that has a blog about a totaly different topic to mine. Bt that does not matter as he is interested in myblog and wishes to comment and I enjoy the conversation he makes and sometimes comment on his blog where I can.

So I would like to thank the people that take time to comment here and maybe you should also as Commenting is as Important as the Post itself sometimes

Put a Slideshow in Your Blog to Save Photo space on your Page

There are two Ways you can Put a Slideshow on a Blog one is by clicking Layout add a Gadget, Then select Hmtl Java Script and Paste the Embeding Code into the Box. However you may Also Want to Put it in a Blog post and Not have it Running in the Sidebar.


 This Is Quite Easy To Do all you Need it To make a Folder in Picassa or Photobucket make sure it's Public. Get the Embed Code and Select in the Post Editor Edit Hmtl and Paste the Code you Will Get an Error Message but Just Check the Radio Buttonthat says Stop showing HTML errors for the body of this post and Publish. This is my first post using Zemanta in Gmail I have Read about Zemanta and it can Improve Traffic by Linking your site to others.Now I was just worried a little that it may Produce Duplicate content It sometime looks like a Good Blogging tool and Maybe it is a tool of the Trade.Basically Zemanta is a Plugin that works with Blogger and Some other Blogging Platforms so far I am using it's labels because I removed my old Blogspot labels because when I use my own Labels then I am thinking like a Person Not like a Computer.

It certainly improves the look of my blog so far as for Increasing Traffic I will have to wait another while so I guess this is a test post on how effective Zemanta can Be on your Blog. As Far as I can see It is Recommending Related sites as I type which is kind of helpful. It Provides me with Pictures as I do not have very many interesting Photos and I do not want to take a Screen shot every time and Edit it to find although the Picture looks great it will never be Found because I used the Wrong ALT tag, So far i see it letting me Blog faster and More Efficiently And maybe i will be using this Blogging Software a Little more as It also helps with Reasearch even though it's not a Search Engine.

Now the thing is I know I am not going to Ever get much Traffic to this Blog as It's a Learning Blog and Maybe If I use this Tool A Little more It could help me with finding Related articles and Blogs. I think It will take me another 3 Blogs at least before I start to Get some kind of Decent Traffic so I am now not so worried about using such software because It will help me also think like a little like a search engine. I am not sure what the Probloggers think of using this But I can see it has Advantages that could help a Person learning to blog. I say use it don't Abuse it

Problem with Custom Domain after Mistake in Google Apps

I made a mistake in Google Aps Today and I had to Publish to my Blogspot Address. But when I tried to Republish to my Custom Domain It Said that that Address is Already taken of Course it is Taken it's My Domain.

Well to Fix it was Deleting the Domain alias that I had set and then Republish to the Custom Domain. Finding Help on this was Very hard as I had Gone to maybe 20 Different Blogger help sites And Also Google Aps should have some-kind of Reset to Default in on the display and make it a little easier to navigate as it is quite easy to make a very big mistake in there. Maybe the Next time the Google Bot Visits here it might pick up on this Because I am not Going to Try to E-Mail Google and wait forever for an Answer as they way to busy to Reply to People like me.

It was 1500 now I left her in my Interests and hoping that her Fans are a little smarter than She is when they Find my profile they will Visit my Blog but it's Not about her or Perez Hilton. But putting in your Interests can Get you Traffic I started by Pasting in My Primary Keywords into my Blogger Profile this Attracts People that have Related Blogs or at least Interests. If they have a Similar Blog or Site then there is Also the possibility that they may become Subscribers Also. The Same Can Be Done with favourite Movies allthough I did not include her we know the Awards Miss Hilton has Won for Acting.

But I am using Her as One Example and the Same can Be done for a Maddonna Blog or your Site on whichever of the Stars of your Choice of Course you Don't Have to Use the Celebritty Gossip or Tattoos as Your Interest to Drive Traffic to your Blog through your Blogger Profile. Thing you could put as an Interest is you favorite Game even a Gadget like iPhone as An Interest and Many are Interested in iPhone Themes or Twitter.

But Your Blogspot Profile is Important Always Include your Blog where is Says Homepage url, Because It Could get Confused with Blogs you Follow. Actualy turn off blogs you Follow by clicking the checkbox as this Will Lead to People Seeing your Profile and going to blogs you Follow not you own which makes the whole profile pointless.

Many People want to Make a Blog or Website , But most Blogs Fail after a few weeks because you have to constently update a blog to get search Results and most loose Interest. There is Also the Thing About Templates you have a Picture of how you would like it to Look WYSIWYG and Where you want Certain Pictures Placed but your Template will not let you do that.The WYSIWYG Editor in Blogspot is Good but it Limits Placement and you can't Just Drag and Drop,Size and Resize this is A Problem Because you will have to change the Outer Wrapper Size and Sidebar-Wrapper sizes and this is alot of Math and when you Do it your next post will want a Different Layout.

Now I came across a Site while I was Searching for a Online Blogspot Template Creator This Evening. It was Quite Good but I had to Revert to Classic Template and I don't want to Do that just yet. And would like something more user friendly like the new Blogger Template that I am using now.

Then I found Something Wonderful it's a Drag and Drop Website Maker, You can Expand, Retract, Move things all around the Page and See how the Look as you Build. This Is better than WYSIWYG or "What you see is what you Get" Editors Because you are moving Elements in the WYSIWYG editor But in this It's just Pain Drag and Drop so you can freely move your pictures around the Page I just made a Test page as I have Not many pictures to Put on a Website but just take a look here.

Roxer is a Great Platform If you just want to upload a few pictures and write a little text. It's still in Beta but it is going to pick up after Geocities Closes Down as a free website hosting service later this year and many people will loose their websites so Roxer could be a Great Alternative. So if you think a blog is a little too much try this first and build a blog later because you will learn if you are interested in making an Online presence in the first place So give Roxer a try it might be for You

All the Advice I read online seems to Be only For Wordpress users now the thing about this is Wordpress Blogs the Users of this other Blogging publishing Format seem to Have some Kind of Snobbery towards Blogspot users I don't Understand this Point of View.I started using Blogspot because I found Blogger First, And I could intergrate it with a Google Account and start a blog.That's the Reason I use Blogspot because I found it First.

Maybe this Happened to the Wordpress Bloggers Also the Landed on Just another Wordpress Blog and Just Got Blogging.I am now Getting Used to Certain things on on Blogspot and have no plans to move to WordPress in the near Future.But why do these debates keep coming up Wordpress is better than Blogspot and vice versa.I feel strongly about some topics but a wordpress vs blogspot is not a thing I will go into an intensedebate over.

The same goes for Operating Systems people will fight it out in forums over terminal vs DOS and so on. It does not end there what about the fights between Internet Explore and Firefox users and iPhone vs Blackberry. Can you really be that passionate about a Product that you will fight to the Bitter end in a forum or on a Blog.

So finishing up here why do these people just write a Article to promote their passion for a product and quit acting like old women in threads.
