Ubuntu on Acer

I have been using this Acer 5310 for a few Months now which I bough 2nd Hand
Quite cheap locally When I first Bought It I seen That Although I had a 80 GB Hard Drive I was Running Out of Space. The Previous Owner who I know had the C: Drive Almost filled because of some setting which made a copy of every Song that was Played on it but that was 30 GB plus the Back up of 30 and he Rest was Vista home which I did not intend to use.


I got it planning to put Ubuntu on it as soon as Possible.Besides not being able to Run Some Programs I think I have had not much Difficulty making to switch to the Open Source world. It's such a shame that 98% of the Computer Market is using Windows because the don't seem to know any Different and Are Afraid to Break free from Microsoft because they are Brainwashed that Windows is the Only Operating System Available.

What I have in Ubuntu is enough Open office comes Installed in the Package which takes care of Word processing and Spreadsheets. Gimp is a Photoshop style Program with many great features allowing me to make things like banners for mu blog and more. Bit Torrent come by default Installed so no Problems downloading large files. A disk Burner and Much more Great Programs Apart From the Movie Player which is not so good but you can Download VlC Player which takes care of that problem.

And another thing is I don't have to install software for my phone and Printers most things work out of the box and I have an extra 70 gb to save my Files. So if you are getting tired of looking for Anti Virus and Drivers for thing on your computer why not look at Ubuntu as you don't need anti virus and it's all free.

What you need to Install Ubuntu

download the Ubuntu live Cd From Here

Make sure you have an ISO Burner

Burn the Image to a Blank Cd

Try it on your computer to see if it is compatible

Use it a few times and if you like it install it on your hard drive
